The Old Croton Aqueduct in NYC – Walk 1 of 3 – Lawton Street to Fordham Road

Approximately 4 miles, 3 hours.

These walks are a continuation of our very popular 26 Mile Challenge and are designed for those who want to earn their 41 Mile Patch & Certificate.  Over the course of 3 walks, we will cover the 15 miles of the Old Croton Aqueduct within the borders of New York City, starting at the northern end of Van Cortlandt Park and ending at 42nd Street and Fifth Avenue. If you have already completed the 26 miles of the OCA trail in Westchester, you will be eligible to receive a 41 Mile Patch & Certificate when you complete these 3 walks. 

Walks will be held on the following Wednesdays: 9/23, 10/7 and 10/21. 

Walk 1 details: We will walk from Lawton Street and the Aqueduct in Yonkers to Fordham Road in the Bronx.  Street parking is available on Lawton Street. Return via IRT#4 and W4 bus to McLean Ave.

In the even of inclement weather, alternate dates will be offered. 

Important Note:  These are one way walks.  Plan accordingly if you need to return to our starting point.
