Approximately 6 miles, 5 hours Walk #3 of the Great 26 Mile Challenge is a continuation of a 4-walk series designed for those who want to walk the entire 26 miles of the Old Croton Aqueduct (OCA) in Westchester. The Friends of the Old Croton Aqueduct awards a Patch and a Certificate to anyone who completes the 26 miles of the trail. This walk covers the segment of the OCA trail from Tarrytown to Hastings-on-Hudson.
The Details: Terrain will be mostly level with some moderate elevation changes. There will be roots and rocks; please wear appropriate footwear. Bring lunch, snacks and water – there will be rest stops along the way.
Important Note: This is a one-way walk. Plan accordingly if you will need to return to your starting point.
Meet at Neperan Road and the Aqueduct, Tarrytown 10591
Metered parking lot is available at McKeel Avenue and Aqueduct, one block north. Metro-North Tarrytown Station is a 20-minute (uphill) walk.
Walk will end at Main Street, Hastings-on-Hudson Street parking and municipal parking is available. Metro-North Hastings station is a 20-minute walk from our ending spot.
