Bronx Historical Society Walking tour
"Follow in the Footsteps of Edgar Allan Poe" Walking Tour
Meeting location: Edgar Allan Poe Cottage, Poe Park, East Kingsbridge Road & the Grand concourse. The tour begins at 9:30 AM – rain or shine.
Tour leader Marcus Hickman takes you on this two-hour walking tour that recreates one of Edgar Allan Poe’s favorite walking New York City jaunts – a walk from his final home [today, Poe Cottage in Poe Park in The Bronx], along the route of the historic Croton Aqueduct to the national landmark High Bridge on the Harlem River seen from the Bronx shore in Highbridge Park. This tour is part of the Poe Bicentennial celebrations of 2009.
The cost of the tour is $10 per person. Please make reservations, as we expect these tours with the noted tour walker to sell out quickly. Contact the Bronx Historical Society office at (718) 881-8900 to reserve your spot.
