Croton Dam Hike

As part of the Hudson River Valley Ramble, hike (1 mile) along the beautiful Croton Dam.
The leader of the hike will discuss the history and construction of the Old Croton Aqueduct and the features of the Croton Dam. The Aqueduct was constructed in 1842 to supply water to New York City. If you would like to take a longer round-trip hike on your own after the hike at the Dam, the Old Croton Aqueduct Trail begins at the Dam and proceeds south.
Meet at 11 am near the restrooms at the Croton Gorge Park ($5 parking fee). You may wish to bring a lunch to eat at the picnic area in Croton Gorge Park. Information: 646-305-3623 or ttarnowsky@aqueduct.org.
